I hate college bookstores. When the prices of the books and other necessities finally add up, they are comparable to the tuition fee.
Plus, as a college student, you are responsible for getting the correct versions of your books. This bites serious ass. Some editions are hard to track down and if a professor is not specific, it is quite easy to get the wrong edition of a book--college textbooks are rewritten and new data and examples are added in later years. For example, my old history textbook from AP History stopped at the Bush Sr. administration, because at the time of its publishing, Clinton had not yet been elected. Translated texts are the worst, because not only do you have to get the right edition, you also have to get the right TRANSLATION, too. A bit of advice for you to set aside for later years.
Also, I will
not be posting stories on this site. People have asked me--and continue to ask me--where they can read the stories I have removed from FP. The answer is nowhere. I have taken great pains to emphasize this fact: my LJ is for journaling purposes only. While other authors may use their Livejournals for posting stories, I don't for several reasons. Mainly because (a) the whole system irritates me--chapter navigation becomes unnecessarily complicated (b) it defeats the purpose of writing to a broad public--I don't want to write towards an "exclusive" audience because that seems elitist and snobby, and (c) if I care enough about a story to go through all this protocol, I probably shouldn't even HAVE it online in the first place.
So what
does being my friend get you?
-access to poll results, spoilers (or hints) regarding upcoming chapters, the occasional teaser
-book and game reviews
-the intimate minutiae of my college life
I know I'm rather boring.
You are welcome to add me if you are a voyeur or a fan (or both, as the case may be) but don't expect any updates here, other than what's going on in my life or little statuses or tidbits concerning my active stories, because you are going to be disappointed.
That is all. Hope you all are having a good week--we're almost over the midway hump!
P.S. I apologize if my entries come off as brusque. I'm rather ... stressed ... at the moment. The last two days have been incredibly shitty--shitty for me, anyway--and I am not in the best of moods.
